Dear Parents & Caregivers
Over the last couple of days we have held meetings with each year group to address a number of areas of concern and to remind students of our College values and expectations.
Marian Catholic College is a uniform school and has enough items of uniform to address cold weather. There is never any reason for students to wear non-uniform items such as hoodies. Junior students may wear their entire and correct sports uniform on Day 5 only. There should be no reason for students to wear the sports uniform at any other time. Senior students should be in full school uniform at all times. Blazers must be worn during Terms 2 and 3. Expectations related to hair, jewellery and other matters are clearly articulated in the Student Planner and on the College Website. Students are expected to abide by the Uniform and Grooming Policy every day, without exception.
The College Wellbeing Framework is centred on the pillars of Respect, Responsibility and Integrity. These standards reflect life expectations to respect;
- the rules and procedures that govern us
- the environment
- others and
This encompasses placing rubbish in the bins provided, following teacher instructions, without challenge or defiance, abiding by our hands-off rule and maintaining respectful relationships with all members of our community.
Students are expected to arrive to school on time and subsequently to every lesson on time. They are to be engaged in the learning for the entire lesson and not negatively impact the learning of others. Further, mobile phones are to be switched off during lessons.
As we work in partnership, we would appreciate all Parents/Caregivers having a conversation with their child to discuss the points above. We know that maintaining high standards of uniform and respect is a priority for all our families at Marian Catholic College.
