Dear Parents & Caregivers,
HillsBus have advised that all afternoon school services will run as normal and not be affected by the driver shortage, as school services are a priority for them to cover. However, students who catch bus 641 may have to wait longer for their bus to arrive. As this is a public bus service, it may take longer for it to be covered.
If you have any concerns, please contact the bus company directly on 8889 7000.
Please note if there are any changes throughout the day, we will inform the Marian Community through School Stream.
Please find below the notice from Hillsbus:
Hillsbus regrets that its services have been disrupted this morning because of an unexpectedly high level of driver absences.
Hillsbus is in the middle of discussions with drivers about a new enterprise agreement. The Transport Workers’ Union is supportive of the package being offered, which is superior to that of all other private operators in Sydney, and it is believed most drivers support the offer as well.
This action is by a group of drivers and the industrial action is not authorised by the TWU.
All services will keep running but the frequency of those services will be cut which may cause disruption and overcrowding on some routes.
All school services are running as scheduled this morning.
Hillsbus is working to restore all services as soon as possible.
