Please see important information from Executive Director Greg Whitby in regard to the diagnosis of two students from St Patrick’s Marist College Dundas with COVID-19. Please be advised, Marian Catholic College will be OPEN tomorrow (Tuesday 10 March) and will be operating as usual.
Dear parents and carers,
As you may be aware, two Year 10 students at St Patrick’s Marist College Dundas have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The College will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday 10 March) to support the school community and health officials to continue to work through a contact and containment strategy. We are not aware of any other cases at this time.
I understand that some members of other CEDP school communities have connections, and in some cases family ties, with members of the St Patrick’s Marist College school community. NSW Health representatives are at the school today to provide specialist advice and help to identify students or staff who have had ‘close contact’ with the cases. Close contacts will need to self- isolate for 14 days.
The advice from NSW Health for any student or staff member who feels unwell is to not attend school and to seek medical advice, but call ahead first. All CEDP schools have also been reminded once again about the importance of hygiene and handwashing. Further information and updates are available here.
Thanks again for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to respond to COVID- 19. We will continue to keep you updated as further information becomes available.
