Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Last Friday, we were made aware that Mr Mark De Vries, Principal at Santa Sophia College Box Hill, had suffered a stroke and was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment. Many of you will know that Mark was a long standing staff member and Assistant Principal at Marian until 2015 when he moved to St Mark’s at Stanhope Gardens.
I am delighted to report to you this morning that our Executive Director of Schools, Greg Whitby, has informed us that Mark is making excellent progress. It appears that early medical intervention has had a very positive effect on his recovery. He is now sitting up and communicating with his family.
Mark and his wife Sherreen would like to thank everyone for their concern and prayers over the past three days. I would ask that you continue to offer this support in the coming days.
