Dear Parents & Caregivers,

Please see message below from Fr Vince and a letter from Bishop Vincent regarding the closure of St Madeleine’s Church.

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Peace of God be with us all!

It is so sad and challenging for us to grapple with the chaos and troubles of the pandemic these days. But, you know we have the light of hope in Jesus. Let us pray fervently that God may renew the face of the earth by turning the tide of COVID-19 and gracing the lives of His children with health of mind and body.  We are one big family of God and let us remain strong in this critical time and be united in love and prayers.

As per the directives from our Bishop, our church will remain closed from 12 noon today (Monday, 23rd March) until further notice.  There will be no Masses and all parish activities (including the Stations of the Cross) are cancelled.  (Please see the attachment).

I will update you with further directives when these are made available.

You are in my thoughts and prayers especially this time.  I urge you to comply with the preventive measures and stay safe and thereby ensure the safety and well-being of others. This is our Christian spirit!

Let us make this prayer every day individually and as a family!

A Prayer to Combat the Coronavirus Pandemic*

Most Merciful and Triune God,
We come to You in our weakness.
We come to You in our fear.
We come to You with trust.
For You alone are our hope.

We place before You the disease present in our world.
We turn to You in our time of need.

Bring wisdom to doctors.
Give understanding to scientists.
Endow caregivers with compassion and generosity.
Bring healing to those who are ill.
Protect those who are most at risk.
Give comfort to those who have lost a loved one.
Welcome those who have died into Your Eternal Home.

Stabilize our communities.
Unite us in our compassion.
Remove all fear from our hearts.
Fill us with confidence in Your care.

(mention your particular concerns and prayers now)

Jesus, I trust in You.
Jesus, I trust in You.
Jesus, I trust in You.

Amen.

Short Litany to Our Blessed Mother
