As a part of the Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation (SLR) course, your son/daughter will be involved in many sporting activities that relate to the outcomes of the course. On a few occasions your son/daughter will be involved with sporting activities outside the school environment due to limited school facilities. These activities will be held during their SLR lesson times and costs incurred have been charged to your school fees. In turn, students will be able to experience a broad range of these activities which will help them to gain knowledge and understanding in the sporting and lifestyle field.
Our sporting experiences for the year may include but not limited:
- Team sports (Bernie Mullane)
- Rock climbing (The Edge & Peak Pursuits)
- Trampolining (Flip Out)
- Gym (Castle Hill)
- Tennis (Max Tennis)
- Bowling (Zone Bowling)
- Golf (Dural Driving Range)
- Squash (Dural Squash)
Some of the above activities may include waivers that must be signed before participating in the events.
Please discuss the upcoming activities with your son/daughter and if there are any concerns, please contact your child’s SLR Teacher on 9654 6700.
A reminder that students will get changed into their sports uniform at recess. Students will leave school at the beginning of period 4 to board the bus to the venue and return to school at the end of period 5 where they will have to get changed back into school uniform. Students must eat their lunch before boarding the bus to the venue.
Students must be in full sports uniform to attend and it is recommended that they bring a water bottle. Some venues including the gym require students to bring a towel.
