Dear Parents & Caregivers,
On Wednesday, 29th August 2018, Year 11 students from Marian Catholic College will be attending the ‘bstreetsmart Youth and Road Trauma Forum’ organised by Westmead Hospital Trauma Service. The forum provides students who are most at risk, a realistic look at the trauma caused by road crashes and gives them information and strategies in an attempt to reduce serious injury and death.
The day will include a combination of demonstrations, crash dynamics and rescue and vehicle stopping distances. The forum will include displays relating to youth trauma and safety from a range of organisations including Westmead Hospital’s emergency department, NSW police, ambulance and fire brigade, drug and alcohol service, and the brain injury unit.
The aim of the day is to help young people make decisions that reduce their risk of being involved in a crash. Attendance is compulsory. Payment for your son/daughter has been included in the school fees.
